This week has been the start of my P90X Ultimate Journey. Many are thinking, what is an Ultimate Journey? That is what I have called my journey through P90X, P90X+, and finish with P90X2.
I wish I could say that it has gotten easier, but it hasn't. Especially when I had to take five to six weeks off from all of my normal workout routines. I have pretty much lost all of my gains. I was on orders for the military for 2 weeks in the field for part of that, working 16 to 20 hour days at times. Then I went to Vegas for coach summit and ended up with food poisoning (while I did lost a lot of weight from that I don't recommend it) and then 3 weeks off for the Ultimate Reset.
So needless to say, it feels like I am doing P90X from the beginning. I am not going to lie, it is tough. I am pushing through, and trying my hardest to make it through some of the workouts. And made it through I have, every time. I just tell myself, it is mind over matter. My body is stronger than what my mind wants to believe. Every time I prove that to myself. I don't have to prove it to anyone else but me.
The supplements I am taking on this journey are Shakeology, protein shakes, Super Suma Root (a natural testosterone booster), P90X Results and Recovery Formula, protein bars, and vitamins. I also am on the 2400 calorie tier for the meal plan. As of yet I haven't hit 2400 calories so I need to tweak my calories more. I am still way below. I will get there, it will just take time for me to tweak my diet according to the nutrition plan set out with P90X.
I will still admit. I HATE YOGA STILL! Yoga X kicks my butt each and every time. It sucks! Probably because I am not flexible at all. But sometimes you just got to "Embrace the suck."

What I have noticed after the Ultimate Reset
I know before the Reset I was CRAVING certain foods. Stuff like soda, sugar, ice cream, etc. Cheesecake was the ultimate weakness with me though. There was NO WAY I could avoid that!
Now however, I look at sweets and other foods I loved like pizza and all, and actually feel nauseated. I have no desire to eat all that garbage now though. It gets offered to me and I pass it up. I don't want it. I haven't drank anything but water for over 3 weeks! I don't want to drink anything else! I am happy with just that. I am in love with this new lifestyle I am living!
I know many say, "I couldn't give up meat." I gave it up on the Reset. I have incorporated it occasionally though. But I don't crave it like I used to. I eat salmon or chicken breast. Otherwise it is a vegetarian diet for me.

The End of My Journey on the Beachbody Ultimate Reset!
Today is the end! The Ultimate Reset cleanse is over after today. During this journey I have learned a lot about my nutrition. What I thought was healthy before really wasn't. There is no substitute for whole foods. If the ingredients of the food you are eating has more than 5 ingredients or a 7 year old can't pronounce the ingredients, you should put it back. Plain and simple. I know people like to go down the freezer aisle and see these "meals" that claim to help you get healthy. They won't. They are full of chemicals that will actually inhibit your health.
You can actually pre prep meals and put them in the freezer so that if you do have one of those days when you just don't feel like cooking or don't have time, you can pull it out and stick it in the microwave. Now you got something healthy to eat that isn't full of chemicals and low in calories!
I lost another 3 pounds this week! That brings my total to 15 pounds. That is just eating clean and taking all of the supplements that detoxify my body. No working out except for some light yoga and walking. Your diet is 70-80% of your health. You can eat junk and work out all day, but you won't get anywhere. Proper nutrition is the KEY to getting your health right!
Phase 3 is where I moved away from the detoxify supplement and started taking the Revitalize supplement. It basically helps restore a healthy balance of flora in your digestive track. If you didn't understand that, it puts healthy bacteria your body needs in your intestines.
Why do you need that? Have you ever taken antibiotics? They don't know the difference between good or bad bacteria. They kill them all. This leads to things like candida yeast building up in your body. It is believed that candida is also responsible for many health problems. Ladies, ever have a yeast infection? It is most likely an over abundance of candida in your system. It also affects men too. It may even be responsible for diabetes, some studies are saying.

My take of Week 2 of the Beachbody Ultimate Reset
Week 3 begins today so I will be recapping week 2 on the Beachbody Ultimate Reset and comparing it with week 1.
Week 2 went to a vegan diet. This continues into week 3. I thought it would be tough transitioning over. It really wasn't though. You still feel full from the meals and all. I took the same supplements that I took on Phase 1 with the addition of the supplement, Detox. The Detox supplement is designed to remove toxins from your colon. I did notice a darker stool during that phase. I assume it was removing waste that was caked on the intestinal wall. I know, TMI, but this a proven medical fact. As a matter of fact, you can have up to 15 pounds of waste caked against the walls of your intestines and it can inhibit your intestinal tracks ability to absorb the nutrients you are eating.
I know you are probably thinking, am I going to be sitting by the toilet. No you won't. It is a gentle cleanse. I am finding I am actually having to eliminate my bowels less. I asked someone about this and they said that it is because I am absorbing more of the food so I have less waste in my system as a result. I also am putting WHOLE FOODS in my body as opposed to the processed foods that contain lots of sugars and chemicals. That means many of the micro nutrients my body needs are getting to where they need to be.
On week one, my body was majorly detoxifying. I mean I was irritable, suffered from constant headaches, and was stressed easily. (I was also stressed easily before I started the Ultimate Reset but even more so on Phase 1). Here on Phase 2, I am more even keel. I do not stress out. I can keep my kewl no matter what the issue and can keep my focus more instead of my mind wandering. This is a great feeling although many people now wonder what is wrong with me. I tell them I feel great.
I am looking forward to the end of this journey however, as I miss working out. You don't want to work out on this program, with the exception of, Yoga, stretching, or walking. Anything else would be too strenuous and you would not really have the energy to do it as you are at the minimum amount of calories already you should consume.

My Ultimate Reset Journey - Week 1 over into Week 2
I finished my first week on the Ultimate Reset. In all I lost 10 pounds. 10 POUNDS IN 1 WEEK!!!! All from following the menu they provided, which is full of clean eating and taking the supplements at their scheduled times. No exercise, except for some walking and yoga. The meals are really quite tasty and all. We have had to modify it slightly in my house as my wife is allergic to walnuts and soy. So we substituted any bean and almonds respectively. The Reclaim phase is over and I am now 3 days into Phase 2: Release.
The Release phase is pretty much what many of you are thinking. It is the "poop" phase. Don't worry though, you don't have to live near the bathroom. This phase removes toxins from your colon to allow for your intestines to properly absorb nutrients. You take this supplement called Detox during this phase. It doesn't taste bad, you just got to get past the "dirt" texture as I like to call it. No, there isn't dirt in it. It is just a lot of fibrous stuff in it that is designed to clean your colon. After the first couple of times you tend not to notice the texture.
As I said, this isn't like other cleanses though where you are camped out in or by the bathroom. It is gentle but is thoroughly making your body a better place to live with. Think of it this way, do you want your body to be a cluttered trailer park with junk all over and a view of the sewage treatment plant, or would you like for it to be a view of blue skies, grassy fields with wild flowers growing all over and majestic mountains in the distance? I choose the second one personally.
